Workshop for the leadership team

With AI, strategic thinking is amplified. Or delegated.

Strategic thinking with AI. A workshop on a real business challenge to train leaders to drive AI. You don't need one more tool. You need training.

Olivetti, 1964

What would you have decided?

Adriano Olivetti died in 1960, Mario Tchou in 1961. The company is in a liquidity crisis. Keep the Electronics Division, which absorbs cash without a market to match, or sell it to General Electric? Meanwhile, in that same division, the Programma 101 is taking shape, considered the first personal computer. This is the case the tables train on: it can be historical, like this one, or a real challenge from your company.

The point

More perspectives. More alternatives.

The leader drives AI to widen the options, stress-test the assumptions and decide better.

The point

The risk of cognitive delegation.

The output becomes the starting point. The leader stops driving the reasoning and confirms in a hurry.

The difference is not made by AI. It is made by whoever drives it: activating four mental postures, on real cases. That is what the workshop offers.

The method

Four postures to activate.

A method that trains leaders to drive AI along the whole reasoning: exploring assumptions, generating alternatives, stress-testing their own ideas and translating choices into execution.

Exploratory

Clarifying the problem before solving it.

Generative

Synthesis, vision, design of the alternatives.

Critical

Stress test, refutation, verification.

Operating

Execution, operating model, decision rights.

Axes: cognitive mode (sensemaking / analytical) and strategic ownership (model-led / human-led)

The framework comes from the white paper Cognitive Governance in the AI Era (UCL School of Management, April 2026). Cognitive Governance →

How it works

One shared case. Four steps for each posture.

01

Guiding question

The facilitator opens the posture on the shared case, chosen with the client.

02

Discussion among participants

Each table debates and develops its own ideas on the problem. AI does not enter here.

03

Individual contribution

Access via QR. Everyone writes from their own device, phone or laptop.

04

The AI reading

The AI reads the contributions and returns how much each table activated the requested posture.

Exploratory

«Maybe the constraint was not capital but the shareholder's time.»

Generative

«Inverse option: sell the mechanical business instead of the electronics?»

Critical

«My idea holds only if the Italian market absorbs those volumes within 2-3 years.»

Operating

«I appoint a CEO for the electronics division alone.»

Examples of contributions, one per posture.

DEXISION®

A reading to guide the reasoning.

The AI returns how much each table activated each posture. A photograph of the group process, with no scores for individuals. It is done by DEXISION, the Systemic Zero platform that operates the workshop.

What it observes

Breadth of the alternatives, counter-arguments and adherence to the requested posture.

What we take away

Awareness of how to amplify one's own reasoning by driving the conversation with AI.

Who it is for

For the leadership team.

Participants reason and debate, posture after posture, learning to: drive AI to amplify strategic thinking, train critical thinking with a method, create the best setup for deciding: AI and critical leadership.

Format
