AI Strategy Compass
From the functions' roadmaps and initiatives to a governed AI strategy.
The Compass starts from the evolutionary roadmaps built in the Bootcamp or, if there has been no Bootcamp, from the initiatives already under way in the functions, and brings them to the leadership table, where they are discussed together and brought back to the strategy. The work, however, does not stop at the initiatives. It addresses the impact of AI on the company's vision and mission: when the way an organisation works and decides changes, you have to ask whether what it wants to be changes too. In the light of this step, company values are checked and, where needed, rethought. From here the AI strategy is drawn up, with its governance and its priorities. For each area it is clarified who decides and within which limits, and every initiative in the implementation plan answers to an objective and an owner.
The four steps.
The roadmaps at the top table
The functions' roadmaps are discussed together and brought back to the strategy.
Vision and mission
The impact of AI on what the company wants to be, and on how it intends to get there, is assessed.
Company values
They are checked and, where needed, rethought in the light of the new way of working and deciding.
AI strategy
Governance, priorities and implementation plan, with who decides and within which limits in each area.
The functions' AI initiatives move forward without a common strategy and without being confronted with the company's vision and mission.
An AI strategy with governance and priorities, built on the functions' roadmaps and brought back to the company's vision and mission.
It takes up the functions' evolutionary roadmaps, confronts them with the company's vision and mission and translates them into an AI strategy with governance and priorities.
The module is part of the layer shared by the two areas of the paths: no mandatory sequence.
